Breeding Program
|
We focus our concentration on mares that are saturated with old stock foundation bloodlines, primarily Oklahoma Star and Bert (shown above). Why do we do this? The answer is simple. These bloodlines do the job, on the ranch, at the rodeo, in the show ring, and on the trail. The Oklahoma Star & Bert foundation stock we are breeding is consistent in conformation, attitude, and athletic ability. These genetics are the choice for many professional cowboys around the country. Furthermore, we add modern cow horse bloodlines, such as Smart Little Lena and Peptoboonsmal, to create an edge in cow sense. The end product is a powerfully muscled and well bone-structured horse, that can move "big", absorb the strain of daily use, and work a cow like no other.

Broodmares
Starbert Leo Barbara, or "Babs", as we call her is a Palomino mare foaled on April 9, 2014. She is a stout made throwback to Leo, Oklahoma Star, and Bert. Babs was purchased as directly off of the Fisher ranch in Oklahoma. She is quickly becoming a top prospect for performance and breeding. As a two year we pulled her off the pasture and she had never been touched. After we got her home she was halter broke and had her feet trimmed in 30 minutes! A testament to how good-minded these bloodlines can be. After a period of training and showing Babs will no doubt make a fine addition to the breeding program.

"Sassy" - Paint Missouri Fox Trotter Mare
|
I have a very flashy 12 year old fox-trotter mare for sale named Sassy. Sassy stands about 14.3 hands and weighs about 950lbs. She is a skewbald paint and was bred out of Missouri. This mare is as smooth as glass and I've clocked her in her gait at 15 mph. She's one of the smoothest gaited horses I've ever ridden, has a good neck rein, and will absolutely walk a hole in the ground. She has been on trail rides all through NW Arkansas. If you like to ride trails or just ride leisurely you won't find one better. I've even gotten up cows with her before. If you don't like that bumpy trot of a Quarter Horse, then this mare is for you. She has 0 buck in her. I do not have a video yet, so if you like her, come ride her and let that speak for itself.

"Boo" - White Quarter Horse Gelding
|
Boo is a pretty sweet guy. He is selling as grade due to the previous owner loosing his papers. When we first got him he was very timid and afraid. His flight response was very strong. He is now desensitized and fully tuned up. Boo is a big mover and has an ultra smooth trot, almost as smooth as some of my gaited horses. He has a good stop and really strong roll back. He stops, backs, and steers with reins and leg cues. I can throw a rope off of him, as well as drag a log. However, I have not roped live cattle on him.
